bauhaus tea caddy wagenfeld – design wilhelm wagenfeld

wilhelm wagenfeld designed this tea caddy in 1924 in the metal workshop of the bauhaus, which was originally made of nickel silver, but is now made of nickel plated brass. the basic shape consists of a cylinder. the arched wall and the round-arched lid handle are the only eye-catchers. the renunciation of the set ornament, and forms that owe their existence solely to function, give the box its timeless appearance and move material and bod proportion into the center.
