in 1955, hans maria wingler met walter gropius at the opening of the ulm school of design. together, they networked with former students of the bauhaus who emigrated or fled during the nazi era. in 1960, wingler founded the bauhaus archive in berlin, where the world's largest bauhaus collection to date is archived and researched. on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the bauhaus archive, the book by hans maria wingler and christian wolsdorff was published, and on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the bauhaus, it was reprinted.
